Thread: Police officer tries to buy marijuana, loses job

A 20-year veteran police officer is fired after he attempts to score marijuana from a fellow detective. Now the former Hollywood officer is facing two misdemeanor drug charges.


42-year-old detective Nicholas Singley was fired earlier this month after he propositioned another officer to "hook him up" with some marijuana. He told detective Sergio Lopez he was dating a new girl who was 'hooked' on getting high, and he wanted Lopez to "hook him up if he comes across a nickel or a dime bag."


But detective Sergio Lopez wasn't as eager to put his job on line, he reported Singley to superior officers. That's when the department began to set up a surveillance operation.


According to the Sun Sentinel, Lopez's car was fitted with video and audio devices after obtaining 10 grams of marijuana from the police department's evidence stash. He was positioned facing a police surveillance van, that's when Lopez called Singley and said he had "that thing" he wanted. Within minutes Singley showed up carrying a gym bag and got into detective Lopez's vehicle.


Singley was pleased once Lopez handed over the pot. "You're the man, you're the best," he was reported as saying while putting it into his gym bag. Continue Reading...

just another reason why weed should be legal-
its a police officer but he is a person just like everyone else-
why cant he score a few joints and go home after working everyday since 1992 on the force and enjoy a doobey?
oh..but its fine to destroy your liver and get shit faced drunk to the point of puking-

The msp state police post flubbed a troopers sobriety test here recently he blew 1.3 mi law is .08. If he blew a joint his life would be in shambles, as it is he walked , 2nd trooper cited from this post in 6 month the last one assaulted a teacher at the jr high while picking up her kid , again no real penalties for a drunken cop . Still on the job being a role model for america's youth . Disregard the anger management and the 9 mil.

what big said... I sat next to sjpd sargent in college and the guy is a total doushe. He partys wirh his cop friends 4-6 nights a week and rhey all get shitfaced and drive afterwards.

oh our county had a sheriff years ago leave the bar, smash into someones parked car in a driveway on his way home, then drove away leaving the scene of the accident- called the office hammered when he finally made it home, reported it-
then the next election year a small town in the district registered about 10,000 dead people that all..voted for him..
well needless to say he resigned with retirement and everything..
sad yet still people think voting, gov, etc all put in place "for the people" shit makes me sick=
