id think bout upgrading to an hps bulb for flowering

i just did a test run with cfl's just to see for myself the quality and quantity compared to hps, and the cfl didnt even come close to the yeild you get with an hps. the quality was ok, buds looked nice, but after they dry and shrink it wasnt even worth my time, i tossed all 12 plants into my extraction bags lol

    just a thought

ya im workin with a smaller budget and a smaller place. this was my test run for trial and error and i think i did pretty well..im planning to add 2 more 105 watt cfls and run the sea of green method.so in short i undertand wat ur saying and im actually at peace with the smaller yield with the cheaper method.i have had no issue wit quality and thats wat i was worried about with this system. it meets my expectations.
im paying alot of attention to detail and workin with the cfl's rather than against them.i have very dense frosty light green nugs as you see and thers alot more to come. thanks for the input dude and happy growing (:

ya i understand. the ones i grew do look very very nice, and i ran a mixed spectrum, 2700k and 6500k, it is suposed to increase resin production. it good to hear your enjoying what u do so keep it up. if you can learn to do it with cfl's, then when u do step it up to some real lights, you will prob do very well

i gotta say tho, u can get a 400watt blub ballast and cooltube for $150 shipped on ebay and amazon. a small investment could tripple your yeild. who wouldnt want more weed!!!!

Oh ya dude i have full intention of movin to hps eventually. money wont always be so tight.im jus amazed wat u can do wit the cfls i was verry happy and i plan to stick wittem ad long as i have too. i already have a 400 watt hps hood with bulb and ballast like i said jus workin on a low budget.ive ordered a new fan as well evacuates 500 cfm so i will feel much more comfortable running the hps then.im also excited to start growin sativas with the hps.the cfl system i ran deffinately didn stop the sativas from stretchin on me i havent posted any pics of my blue dreams yet.for now im gonna stick with indicas and hybrids in my system which is a shame cuz ima sativa man myself but i cant say no to some bc cheese or some nice kush lol.i heard mixed things about running the 2700 k i heard ya needed it i heard ya didnt i ran them for a short while and found the heat increase wasnt worth the extra light i have had a problem with resin production so far i was skepticle wen i took the 2700k bulbs out but i think im good man. overall a great first experience.happy growing man (:
