Thread: my new grow

Ok guys I'm gonna buy a 2x2x2 meter
Tent, so I need some of your very helpful advice.
I am pondering whether 2 600w or 1 1000w light to cover the area. Or is my thinking off track? The next question is which are the best bulbs for veg and flower, is there a bulb that is good for both or is hps and mh the best way to go. I don't mind spending the dough to get good results so I would rather buy quality or if there is no difference I don't mind saving a buck either.
A couple of the guys recommended quantum ballasts but can't find them in Australia, is there another ballast that will work well (digital) and can you run 2 lights off one ballast? Anyways I look forward to the feedback and the great advice! Peace onto all.

I use global green house digital ballasts they work great. Seen plenty of lumetek doing their thing. Lots of good brands out there. What brands have you been able to find in aus. I havent seen any ballast that run two lights but that doesnt mean the don't exist. I run 2 600w hps for veg and flower. I like the 2 600w versus 1 1000w but lots of people swear its not as good. I am no weed genius but I pull great harvests from my 600w lights.I hope that helps a little.

Like Grey said, lots of good brands. Any decent digital ballast will do. I actually use a global greenhouse on 1 light can't remember the other brand for the others, starts with an N. You can get a ballast that lets you switch between hps and MH or, I believe it's the eye hortilux line, gives you both in one bulb ( not cheep bulbs ). 1 ballast per light, 1 1000 easier to cool, 2 600's more fans, but more light.

go with the dual 600's...two light sources, more lumens etc..for only a 200w power difference over a 1000w-

id go cooltubes or air cooled reflectors..cooltubes can be had on ebay for 55$ea...
one 6" active air/hydrofarm 400cfm inline fan will cool them great- 70-80$ea
then you just need a pair of 4" inlines..one for the intake and one for the exhaust- about 50$ea
